Last year we redesigned our website and had big plans to stay in constant contact with our friends and followers. Fail. But hey, we’re busy. You’re busy. That’s life. The good news is we’ve made enough progress that we can open the Build Queue for a brief spell.

For Spring 2016 our special offering is the SuperTracker XU (and XD). It’s a bit of a new concept for us. Instead of finding used donor bikes from various sources all over the country, each build will feature a brand new, factory fresh, zero-mile Honda XR650L as the platform.

From there, we will do our signature inverted fork conversion and rear end mods for a low, flat stance. Spoked supermoto wheels and aggressive rubber add to the distinctive Level 3+ Classified mojo.

The torquey 650 is tons of fun around town but can stretch its legs on the highway, no problemo, so you’re not chained to the neighborhood — or the street for that matter. The lower stance and shorter travel might limit your Evel Knievel style jumps, but they make for a rock solid stance slinging around the dirt and gravel.

Versatility, reliability and Classifiedidity. That’s the goal for with this one.

Components include a ceramic-coated and stainless exhaust, Acewell compact digital gauge, custom waxed canvas and leather seat, Galfer stainless brake lines, Progressive Suspension 465 mono shock, Shorai Lithium Ion battery, LED Bates style headlight and a bajillion other custom touches.

The two basic trim models are XU (Utopian) and XD (Dystopian). Think of them as a clean and dirty version. Chances are most of your friends will understand your purchase better if you go for the XU, but frankly, the XD has a greater capacity for snubbing convention. The clean version features nickel plated components made as nice and clean as we can manage in our old horse barn. The dirty old XD has a post-apocalyptic vibe with rust (of a benign sort) used in the color palette and sealed with clear powder coat to protect it. We can dial up (or down) the dystopia within reason to give you a look that floats your boat.

We have not built a bike like this one yet, therefore, it only exists in rendering form. This means you’ll be in a pretty exclusive club when you take delivery. It also means we haven’t figured out every aspect of the design yet. We can’t until we start getting our hands dirty. We do, however, know the basic level of components and a general number of shop hours to complete each build. We’ll keep buyers posted of progress along the way, and can include certain specific component requests for an extra charge or use your supplied part. (e.g., if you want a particular expensive Italian brake reservoir, send it along and we’ll work it into the design.)

Whether you fancy the Dystopian or Utopian model, the price is $21,500 USD. Most buyers wire funds, but we’re open to other forms of payment. Buyer is responsible for any associated fees. Here’s now payments are handled normally. Once you have purchased the $500 Build Queue Request fee, you will need to be prepared to half the balance immediately (officially, this means within two weeks). That is plenty of time to work out any build particulars and payment arrangements. However, if you change your mind and don’t want to proceed with the build, or don’t pay your half-down deposit as agreed, you forfeit your deposit. Also, and this evidently requires stating — if you pay the deposit with the intent of purchasing something different than what is being offered, you will forfeit your deposit. We do our best to accommodate personal preferences within reason, but we are offering these particular bikes at this particular time for various reasons. If you have requests, it doesn’t hurt to ask, but please don’t assume this is a “blank slate” kind of build queue. So, if you have requests or questions, let us know BEFORE you put down the deposit.

Assuming your build continues as planned, the remaining balance will be due in three equal installments during and at the end of the build. This queue is a little different than previous ones because we’re using a brand new bike as the platform. Because roughly $7,000 of your downpayment will go straight to buying the donor bike, we’ll run out of build money sooner than normal. Three payments will allow us to continue making progress.

Shipment of the completed bike is ultimately the responsibility of the buyer. Domestic rates, in our experience, rarely exceed $700. Your mileage might vary. International buyers will need to be familiar with any tax/tariff/customs regulations that deal with importing a custom motorcycle from the USA. We will help in any way we can, but again, responsibility is with the buyer. We are located in Richmond, Virginia, USA, if you’d like to get initial quotes through the shipper of your choice.

This is a special offering of two unique Classified Moto bikes. It’s a serious purchase for a serious buyer. We are a tiny four-person operation and we really do our best to keep everyone happy. That said, our builds are not made in a factory with robots and air conditioning and plastic molding machines. They are functioning pieces of art, prototypes vehicles, reimagined machines. You have to be okay with that or none of us will enjoy the experience. Seeing your own custom bike come together and knowing the only other ones out there are mostly counterfeits — that’s kinda cool. So, we’d be thrilled to have you on board with us, but just think it over first.

So, there’s the scoop. If you want to have a go, proceed to the Build Queue to reserve one of the six spots. Estimated build time is 7-12 months and varies depending on your place in the queue. If you have a custom motorcycle emergency and must have it sooner, we can discuss a rush arrangement.

For more information or to reserve your spot, head over to the Build Queue Request link in our online store.
